Students Explore Great Jewish Books

Comments Off on Students Explore Great Jewish Books

The Great Jewish Books program is the Yiddish Book Center’s weeklong seminar for high school students in Amherst, Massachusetts, which offers a taste of the richness and variety of modern Jewish literature. The program, taught by college professors, introduces young people to a wide range of modern Jewish novelists, poets and short-story writers, and includes both classic works and more surprising selections, like El Iluminado, Ilan Stavans’ graphic novel about the legacy of crypto-Jews in the American southwest.
